Casework and Home Safety Service

West Wales Care & Repair's Caseworkers provide a broad and tailor-made service aimed at finding improvements and solutions that you may need to remain independent in your own home.

Our caseworkers can arrange to visit you at home to assess for hazards or simply discuss ways in which we may be able to make your home more suitable and safe. The caseworker will undertake a complete home assessment and discuss ways of rectifying any problems identified. We have helped people obtain stairlifts, disabled access bathrooms and extensions, as well as making sure they have the smaller adaptations that they need. We can also review your benefits to make sure that you are getting all the financial support that you are entitled to.

Providing that you are over 60 or registered disabled, we can visit you whether you are a private home owner, or private tenant, or tenant or a housing association or the Local Authority.

We can help with:

  • Completing application forms
  • Engaging and negotiating with contractors or architects on your behalf
  • Negotiating with other organisations
  • Advice and assistance with welfare benefits, improving energy efficiency or obtaining charitable funding
  • Home Safety assessments
  • Putting you in touch with other local services
  • Provide a list of reputable builders
