The Handyperson Service
Small adaptations, big improvements!
We realize that a small adaptation can make a huge difference. As such, The West Wales Care & Repair Handyperson Service provides a minor adaptation and safety related repair service to older and vulnerable disabled people, aiming to improve and support their independence.
Who is eligible?
People over 60 or vulnerable disabled people, who are homeowners and private tenants and whose ability to live independently and safely within their home would be at risk without the completion of the work.
Cost?
We ask customers to make a £45.00 contribution only towards the administrative costs of the service, although the actual cost of the work usually far exceeds what you are asked to pay.
Our CRB checked Handypersons can complete a wide variety of small adaptations or safety related repairs, including:
- External hand rails, for example along a pathway or to a washing line
- Internal and external grabrails
- Banister Rails
- Home access work, such as alterations to steps
- Key Safes
- Lever Taps (following assessment)
